We Turned One Today

Thank you all who have been following us and for sticking by. I can’t believe it’s been a year today since I started this blog. I am so thrilled to be sharing this journey with you and would like to share a quick introduction about us.

A little about me

I am born and bought up in Kolkata, with a Master’s degree in International Accounting and Finance from Cass Business School, London. Post-graduation, and before I conceived my firstborn, I worked in private equity companies and a construction company. I have been a full-time mother since the time I delivered, and I wish to continue doing the same until my kids want me around. I have two boys and a loving husband. The kids love spending quality time with their grandparents, and they love it with the kids.

How did I start blogging?

I did not have a clue of what a blog looks like, or how to start it, so I converted my profile into a content creating platform. My husband suggested the name 2monkeysandme, which I loved and instantly believed it was the one. No, I didn’t choose the date to start blogging. It was just a spur of the moment’s decision. I had no clue of what content should look like, or how and why the mothers would be interested in following me. And trust me, it was the best decision I made.

Why did I want to start blogging?

The reason I started blogging was so that I could outreach and connect with new mothers and help them. I have always been that mom who desired to do everything correctly with my children. This desire helped me to read extensively, which is why I have all the information that I do today. I still love to read as parenting is continuous, and so is the learning process it comes with.

My Journey So Far

Blogging has made me an enthusiast, an active mom, much calmer, and organized. The content I create is about what I believe in. I have always been creative even before I started blogging. This blog brings out my passion, and as I have always been the methodical per-planned kind of person, I pre-plan my content months in advance. I have a system, which has helped me to be more organized and channel my energy into creative things. Writing and creating content lifts my mood, and it helps give the children tenfold exposure than what I would be able to otherwise. My older son, who has been particularly shy, is now more confident to be in front of the camera. The kids are exposed to science, maths, technology, and engineering because of the blogs, and they help in creating the content every day. I get to meet and connect with so many amazing moms who write to us, and I feel lucky to help them with the knowledge that I gained through reading and studying.

The year 2020

I have met so many people who come and tell me to follow 2monkeysandme but don’t know that I am the mother of the monkeys. My goal for 2020 would be to get my face in front of the camera much more. I would continue developing and creating strong and useful content ( please leave any suggestions in comments on what I should improve on ).
Keep hooked as I have something exciting coming up in the first few months of the new year. Looking forward to all the love you guys keep pouring in and see what’s in store for the next year.
