  • 2 boiled raw banana
  • 1/2 cup barnyard millet or Shyama chawal
  • 1 onion
  • 1/2 cup beetroot and shredded carrot. Half boil it or steam it
  • 1/2 tsp fennel powder.
  • 1/4 tsp amchur
  • Some crushed peanuts ( avoid an upset tummy)
  • Handful coriander
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder or less or avoid if a child doesn’t eat
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric
  • Salt to taste
  • Pinch of garam masala or kitchen king masala( this is better) but optional

1. Cook the raw bananas, skin on, in a pressure cooker until very soft. Cool a bit, peel and mash them.

2. Add all the spices to the mashed raw bananas. Mix it all very well. Taste and adjust for seasoning.

3. Make equal-sized balls. Press them slightly to flatten them.

4.Cook with little ghee on both sides and serve with coriander chutney on the side. Tastes good if put on toast and eaten too.
