Rice rolls are entirely gluten-free and can be paired with a range of healthy stuffing. They are a popular and integral part of most East Asian diets. They are often paired with vegetables and/or seafood preparations to make a complete meal. You can incorporate rice rolls to make a healthy, yummy snack in no time. It is a great replacement for the regular tortilla wrap, that is not great for health.

Ingredients

  • Rice paper (we’ve used real Thai)
  • Sliced yellow
  • Green and red bell peppers
  • Sliced carrots
  • Sliced baby corn, spring onions
  • Soy sauce
  • Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

Method

1. Soak the rice paper in water for a minute before use.

2. Mix all the veggies and a tablespoon of vegetable oil, in a bowl.

3. Then roll up this colorful mixture in the rice paper and steam it

4. To make a thick sauce, in a priorly heated pan, put a cup of light soy sauce.

5. To this add, half a cup of sugar.

6. Let the sugar melt and watch for the sauce to become thick.

7. Pour the sauce over the rolls and sprinkle some spring onions on them and serve!
