Shadow formations are quite amusing for the kids.
With a bit of science and a whole lot of fun, your little ones can learn all about this fascinating phenomenon.
Here’s a simple art activity that requires minimal supplies!
What you need:
- Small animal toys
- Translucent objects
- Pencil
- A plain sheet
- Paints
Steps:
Place the toys on the sheet of paper, outside in the sun and note the time.
- Draw the outlines of the shadow and fill in with colors or paint
- Place translucent objects and observe what type of shadow do they cast
You can experiment with different timings and check if there are any changes in the shadow.
While performing this activity the kids will learn how the length and direction of the shadows depend on the position of the source of light, and the distance between the object and the sheet.
Learning science through art activities is quite exciting, isn’t it?
