We love making things glow. Our rainfall and lightning experiment is both fun, and educational.
Learn about the water cycle with this storm in a jar!
What you need:
– A beaker
– Glow paint
– Dropper
– Shaving foam
– Water
Steps:
1. Fill the beaker with water and spray some shaving foam.
2. Use a dropper to add some glow paint on the foam.
3. Turn the lights off and place a backlight to observe the movement of glow paint.
You will observe how the paint moves through the foam into the water giving the appearance of lightning!
While performing this experiment, explain the water cycle to the little ones. The foam, act as clouds, getting heavy with water and then precipitation/rainfall happens.
