Number Matching Garage

Are you wondering what to do with those many shoeboxes and cartons piling up in the house?

How about getting the kids to create and play with their own toy sets, using nothing more than just those boxes!

Sounds intriguing, doesn’t it?

Here’s a super fun, easy idea to build a mini garage, that is totally customizable!

What you need:

       –  A shoe box

       –  3 toilet rolls

       –  Marker

       –  Cutter

       –  Cars

Steps:

1. Take a cutter and cut out the tuck flaps.

2. Place 3 toilet rolls on the upper panel of the cover of the shoe box, and glue them carefully to create a support for the garage.

3. Cut out 2 flaps on the front panel of the box to resemble the doors of the garage.

4. Place the cars the garage to resemble parking spots and mark them.

Mark the cars according to their parking spots and there you go!

Your mini garage is all ready to stock up those cars.

This fun craft can be turned into an equally fun learning activity by asking the younger ones to park the cars according to the numbers marked on them and reading out these numbers aloud. This will help them to better memorise the numbers.

Add some more cars, more numbers or maybe a racing track or two! Let the ideas flow!
