Paper Cup Shooters

Wondering how to get your little one’s birthday going, without buying those massive party poppers that are oh-so-bad for the environment? Just make one mini popper yourself!

These paper cup shooters are super simple to create and will keep the kids engaged for a while! You may use this as an educational activity to explain the concepts of push, pull and force.

What you need:

     –  A balloon

     –  A paper cup

     –  Scissors

     –  Pompoms

Steps:

1. Cut out the bottom of the paper cup and the top of the balloon.

2. Stretch the balloon over the bottom area of the cup and tie a knot at the opposite end of it.

3. Place some pompoms, or pistachio covers, or anything you can find in the cup and start popping!

This fun, but super easy activity can be a great homeschooling opportunity too! Just ask the kids to try shooting the pompoms by pulling the end of the balloon at varying degrees.

Greater force is created when the end of the balloon is pulled more and depending on the weight of the object it will cover a greater distance!

With just a bit of creativity learning can be so much fun, isn’t it?
