Solar Eclipse is an intriguing topic to discuss, both for the kids and the parents!
It’s certainly more than what meets the eye and kids must be encouraged to question such phenomena to nurture their curiosity.
Here is a simple craft that can help you and your little ones to engage with the idea of solar eclipse.
What you need:
– A thick white sheet
– Paints
– Paintbrush
– Scissors
– Ice cream stick
Steps:
1. Cut a sheet into a circle and paint it black with some white spots, to resemble the universe.
2. Cut more circles and paint them to resemble the Sun, Moon and the Earth.
3. Attach the Sun and the Earth to the universe. Glue the Earth onto the ice cream stick.
4. Make a semi circular cut in the universe and place the ice cream stick in it, in such a way that as you move the stick the moon will appear to cover the Sun.
This craft activity is engaging and easy to execute too. The kids will have a lot of fun creating their mini universe!
