Spinning Planets

Simple crafts for kids are great for the times they’re bored at home and tired of playing with the toys and games they own. These crafts are super easy to get a hang of and can keep the young ones engaged and entertained for quite sometime.

These fun spinning planets were super easy to create and super fun to play with!

What you need:

     –  Paper

     –  Push pins or toothpicks

     –  Scissor

     –  Paint

     –  Straw

Steps:

1. Take a sheet of paper and draw a circle on it. Mark equidistant points around the periphery of the circle.

2. Paint the circle to resemble any planet of your choice. Now cut along the periphery as marked earlier and fold the paper inwards.

3. Take another sheet of paper, painted to resemble the universe. Make a hole at the center of the circle and attach it to the painted sheet using a toothpick or pushpin.

That’s it! Your planets are ready to be spun!

Take a straw and blow through it, aiming at the folded periphery.

You could use this easy craft to explain how air traps and forces the circles to spin, and how the planets spin in the universe!

With the use of minimal supplies, a bit of creativity, and with much educational potential, this activity will surely be a hit in your house!
